More American Eagles?
American Eagles Situation
I’ve had several phone calls recently from collectors wanting to know when the American Eagle silver and gold proof and uncirculated coins are going to return to the Mint’s online product catalog. The best I could do was direct them to the Mint’s Web site:
“Production of United States Mint American Eagle Gold Proof and Uncirculated Coins has been temporarily suspended because of unprecedented demand for American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins. Currently, all available 22-karat gold blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-185 to produce these coins ‘in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . . .’
“The United States Mint will resume the American Eagle Gold Proof and Uncirculated Coin Programs once sufficient inventories of gold bullion blanks can be acquired to meet market demand for all three American Eagle Gold Coin products. Additionally, as a result of the recent numismatic product portfolio analysis, fractional sizes of American Eagle Gold Uncirculated Coins will no longer be produced.”
Now a post by Dave Harper of Numismatic News suggests that the shortage of American Eagle gold and silver bullion coins may soon come to an end. Read the entire Friday, May 22 post at http://blog.numismaticnews.net/buzz/.
Here’s my question: If investor coins become more plentiful, is it possible that collector coins will soon be available again? Should collectors of American Eagle proof and uncirculated coins be hopeful?

Great advice, Clearly explained and easy to follow. Thank you

Thank you for another essential article. Where else could anyone get that kind of selective information in such a clear way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the lookout for such selective information.
Hey mate, thanks for posting but this article doesn’t format correctly when using Chrome it is showing only half the page.
