[LONDON, ENGLAND] In 2005, a metal detectorist found a hoard of 324 silver coins and alerted authorities. The coins were researched at the British Museum and identified as silver groats. The museum purchased 14 of them for public display; the rest were returned to the finder and the land owner on whose land they were found.

The two men decided to keep 10 coins apiece as mementos. London auctioneer

Morton and Eden was scheduled to sell them on Dec. 2.

The coins date mainly from the reigns of Henry V (1413-1422) and Henry VI (1422-1460) and are relatively free from corrosion.
